Well I think it is still too early for him. Remember what happen to my iphone when I gave it to him about 9 months ago… I never saw it again. lol lol He is a really good kid but still too early. He couldn’t even find his book bag a week ago. I remember I got my first cell at 15… lol I think a good age would be at 11-13…

I think it’s waaaaay too early for Nicky to get a phone. Wait until he’s like fourteen,AT LEAST. All he’ll do is get it lost or text random people(probably), and kill your minutes. Plus,he has everything he ever asks for. If you keep on feeding him what he wants, I can’t say he’ll always be grateful, especially the few times he doesn’t get what he wants.

You have to analyze your reason for considering giving him a cell phone. Is he ever so far away from you that he needs to contact you? Do you pick him up from practice? (sports, etc), Are you considering getting him a phone because of societal pressures? )peer pressure), Do all the other kids have one? Do all of your friends – kids have one? Also, what James and Lizzie have stateed makes sense. We can’t give our children “everything”, even though thats what we inately want to do. If they are “given everything” , then they will never learn to work towards what they want or to appreciate what they have. 8 years old? Waaaaaaaaaay too young in my opninion. But, thats just my opinion.
